Its gives me an immense pleasure to present the annual report of "PAVAI VARAM POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE". for the year 2010-2011.

Our main motto is to offer value based education and to impart refined culture. To promote the qualities of both faculties and students, orientation Programme for both faculties & Students are being organized.

°	On 2nd June 2010, The academic year 2010-2011 for II & III Yr students commenced with Saraswathi Pooja.
°	On 1.07.2010 the inauguration for I-year students commenced followed by Vinayaga ,Saraswathi Pooja and Padha Pooja. The Chief Guest was Mr.V.Palanisamy, DGM (HR), Sakthi Auto Components, Tiruppur.
°	On 03.07.2010, "British English Class" was conducted for all Heads of the Departments to develop their Communication skills.
°	From 31.07.2010, to 04.08.2010 Competitions were conducted to our students in connection with Independence Day Celebrations.
°	On 15.08.2010, the glorious 64th Independence Day was celebrated. The Chairman, Paavai Institutions addressed the students and gave prizes to the winners of different competitions.
°	On 20.08.2010, an awareness program on Health and Hygiene was conducted for Girl students and Lady Staff members. Dr.Sudha was the chief guest
°	On 05.09.2010, Teachers Day was Celebrated. Our students performed Padha Pooja for teachers to express their respect and gratitude towards them.
°	On 19.12.2010, "Kongu Association" conducted the cultural feast in Karur. Our students proved their talents through their exemplary performance.
°	On 27.12.2010, "Kiramiya kalai vizha "was Celebrated at Kalpana Chawla open theatre. Our students performed various cultural events and won the appreciations.
°	From 20.12.2010 to 24.12.2010, "Youth Week Festival" was celebrated and our students participated in various competitions and won prizes.
°	On 03.01.2011, "Road Safety Week Celebration" was organized to realize about the importance of the road safety and rules.
°	On 07.01.2011, "Youth Festival on National Integration" was celebrated in our campus for the Matriculation and State Board Schools. Nearly 100 students participated and won prizes.
°	On 20.01.2011, Motivation Program "Success a Habit" was organized. The chief Guest was Mr.Suhas Gopinath, Youngest CEO, Bangalore.
°	On 26.01.2011, 61st Republic Day was celebrated. The Chairman, Paavai Institutions, hoisted our National Flag and addressed the students about their responsibilities.
°	On 03.02.2011, Motivation Program was conducted by our Correspondent Madam to our students.
°	On 11.12.2011, State Level Technical Symposium "CAPS 2K 11" was organized in a grand manner. This mega event was presided over by our Chairman. Mr.Ritheesh Kumble, Infosys Technology Ltd, Bangalore, was the chief Guest.

To promote the practical knowledge of students in the advanced technology, resource persons from various fields were invited to share their expertise with our students.

°	On 21.07.2010 Department of Computer Technology and Information Technology arranged a Guest lecture on "Network security". It was handled by Mr. P. Senthil., B.E, MBA, Access point, Salem.
°	On 23.7.2010 Department of Computer Technology and Information Technology arranged a Guest Lecture on "Real Time Operating System". It was handled by Mr.T.Shankar B.E., Access point, Salem.
°	On 24.7.2010 Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a Guest Lecture on "Non – Distractional Testing of Metals". It was handled by Er.R.Vaikundanathan, Section Engineer, Southern Railways, Salem division.
°	On 26.7.2010 Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering arranged a Guest Lecture on "General Electrical Safety and Earthing" The Lecture was delivered by Mr.M.Chandrasekaran, Rtd/ Assistant Executive Engineer / TNEB , Salem.
°	On 28.07.2010 Department of Civil Engineering arranged a Guest lecture on "Field Error". It was handled by Mr.R.Ganesan B.E, Chairman of Civil Builders Association of India, Namakkal Dist.
°	On 5.8.2010 Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering arranged a Guest Lecture on "Embedded Programming" handled by Ms. Sowmiya, B.E, Embedded Programmer, Spiro Technologies, Salem.
°	On 3.12.2010 Electronics and Communication Engineering arranged a Guest Lecture on "Power line Carrier Communication". It was handled by Mr.R.S.Shankar, A.E,TNEB, Salem-2
°	On 5.8.2010 Department of Computer Technology and Information Technology arranged a Guest Lecture on "Advanced Data Base". It was handled by Mr.S. Baskaran B.E., and Ms.D.Vasamathi B.E., United info solutions, Salem.
°	On 16.8.2010 Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering arranged a Guest Lecture on "Power Factor". It was handled by Mr.S. Siva Subramanian, Executive Engineer / TNEB.
°	On 11.12.2011 Department of Computer Technology and Information Technology arranged a Guest lecture on the topic "Search Engine optimization" it was handled by Mr.S.Bharathi Raja Msc., (CS & IT)
°	On 20.12.2010 Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering arranged a Guest Lecture on the topic "substation equipment" by Mr.V.Andiyappan A.E, maintenance, K.R .Thoppur.
°	On 22.02.2010 Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized a Guest Lecture on the topic "Types of Relays " by Mr.K.R.Elango, A.E, Grid and Relay Testing. 400 KV SS, K.R.Thoppur.
°	On 22.02.2010 Department of Electronic Communication Engineering organized a Guest Lecture on the topic " Fiber Topics Networks " handled by Mr.K.S.Venkat Subramaniyan, Deputy General Manager, Salem.
°	On 27.02.2010 Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering conducted the Guest Lecture on the topic "Maintenance of Electrical Equipment" by Mr.C.Mohan, Prop. Sri Sowdeshwari Electrical Service Center, Salem -9
°	On 31.12.2010 Department of Computer Technology and Information Technology organized a Guest lecture on the topic "Image Processing". It was handled by Mr.M.R.Raja sekar MBA. Unit of HIL in solution Ltd.

To understand the practical usages and applications of theories the following industrial visits were organized for the students.

°	On 28.7.2010 Students of Final Year Mechanical Engineering visited Mettur Thermal Power Station.
°	On 31.7.2010 Students of II Yr Electrical and Electronics Engineering visited M/S Jaya shree cables & Conductors Pvt Ltd, Mettur Dam and seen the conductor manufacturing.
°	On 31.07.2010 Students of Electrical &Electronics Engineering visited 400KVSS, K.R. Thoppur, Salem.
°	On 31.07.2010 Students of III Yr Electrical &Electronics Engineering visited Mettur thermal power station, to known the process of Thermal Generation.
°	On 20.08.2010 Students of III Yr Civil Engineering visited Mettur Dam.
°	On 27.08.2010 Students of II Yr Civil Engineering visited Mettur Dam to know the Constructional features of the Dam.
°	On 28.08.2010 Students of III Yr Computer Technology and Information Technology visited CRISP SYSTEM, Coimbatore.
°	On 28.12.2010 Students of III Yr Mechanical Engineering visited Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation LTD, Salem to gain knowledge about Automobile Technology.
°	On 05.02.2011 Students of III Yr Electronics Communication Engineering visited Reva powers, Palladam, Tripur, a wind power generation

°	On 16.08.2010 Parents meet was conducted for II& III Yr Students to appraise the students’ Academic Performance.
°	On 04.09.2010 Parents meet was conducted for I –Year Students and discussed their academic performance.
°	On 22.01.2011 Parents meet was conducted for II& III Yr Students to appraise the students’ Academic Performance.
°	On 19.02.2011 Parents meet was conducted for I –Year Students and discussed their academic performance.

°	On 24.07.2010 Trekking was arranged for our I Yr Students to Perumal Malai.
°	On 8.12.2010 & 9.12.2010 our NSS Volunteers Went to Elaiya Perumal Kovil Kumbabishegam for service.
°	On 6.12.2010 Blood group Screening Camp was organized for our Students by Siva Ramji Blood Bank, Salem
°	On 20.12.2010 Blood Donation Camp was held at our college. Our students donated their blood to Siva Ramji Blood Bank, Salem
°	On 20.12.2010 & 21.12.2010 First Aid Training Program was organized by St. John’s Ambulance, Salem for our students .
°	On 21.2.2010 & 22.12.2010 NSS Students went for Tree Planting Program. Nearly 40 Saplings were planted.
°	On 04.01.2011 NSS Volunteers organized Road Rally at Rasipuram to bring out the importance of Road Safety.
°	On 24.01.2011 NSS Volunteers Went to Belukurichi Mariyamman Kovil Kumbabishegam for Volunteer Work.
°	From 09.02.2011 to 15.12.2011 Special Camp was arranged for our NSS Students at Thathiyangarpatti for 7 days. Our Students engaged themselves into activities such as, Road repairing, Tree Plantation & Motivation Program for youths.

Our Students have participated in many symposia conducted by other colleges and presented technical papers on various Topics.

°	On 6.12.2010 Mr. Gowtham Sarathi & Mr. Keerthi of Civil Engineering presented papers in Bharath Polytechnic College, Namakkal, on the topic " Ground Improvement Tech"
°	On 29.12.2010 Mr.K.Prasanth ,Mr.K.R.Venkatesh & Mr.D.Suresh ,MR.K.Tamilarasu of III Year Electrical &Electronics Engineering Presented papers in Musiri Institute of Technology, Musiri, on the topic of " Recent Trends In Power System"
°	On 29.12.2010 Mr.K.Tamilarasu & Mr.D.Suresh of III Year Electrical &Electronics Engineering Presented papers in Musiri Institute of Technology, Musiri, on the topic of " Special Machines"
°	On 7.01.2011 Mr.S.Gangatharan & Mr.E.Saravanan of III Year Electrical &Electronics Engineering Presented papers in K.S.R. Institute of Technology, Tiruchengode .
°	On 7.01.2011 Mr.Vinith & Mr.Vignesh of III Year CIVIL Engineering Presented papers in K.S.R. Polytechnic College Tiruchengode, on the topic of " Special Machines"
°	On 7.01.2011 Mr.Vignesh & G.Vetrivel of III Year CIVIL Engineering Presented Papers in Muthayammal Polytechnic College, Rasipuram, on the topic of " Ground Water Improvement "
°	On 29.01.2011 Mr.P.Vignesh & Mr.N. Ashraf Ali III CIVIL Engineering Presented Papers in Al – Ameen Engineering College, Erode, and they have won third prize.

Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by the following Companies to our students. 109 Students got placement.

Apart from academic Skills, Our students participated in various tournaments right from inter college to state level and won prizes to show their talent.

°	On 12.10.2010 Divisional level Basket Ball tournament was held at PVPC. Our students secured Fourth Prize.
°	On 12.08.2010 Divisional, Inter polytechnic Basket ball tournament was held at PVPC and our students secured Fourth Prize
°	On 04.1.2011 & 5.01.2011 Divisional level, KHO – KHO was held at Voice of God Polytechnic College, Erumapatti. Our students have won First Prize.
°	On 07.01.2011 to 09.01.2011 State level KHO – KHO was held at R.I.T. Coimbatore. Our Students secured Fourth Prize.

The academic year (2010- 2011) was imprinted with various landmarks. We had faced a lot of challenges and we came out successfully, we empowered ourselves in all the possible ways with the presence of omnipotent. Our vision and mission lead us in the right path. Only the word attitude in alphabets proves mathematically centum likewise our thoughts are motivated to achieve our objective and goals.

I owe my sincere thanks to my management who shared my ecstasy and agony with empathy. I want to be thankful to all faculty members for their co operation towards reaching goal. I am thankful to our parents for their co operation. Thank You Ladies & Gentle man.
